Since 1 June 2018, Nicholas Lim has stepped into the role of Managing Director, The Travel Corporation, Asia and currently oversees the company’s operations, marketing and sales across Asia, including the Middle East. Lim was drawn to the hospitality and tourism business as a twelve-year-old boy and sought a vacation job in a five-star hotel opening doors for guests during Christmas. As a teenager, he continued to find vacation jobs that would continue to allow him to work with people who love travelling. Fuelled with a passion for all things travel, Lim decided to complete his degree in hospitality and tourism, winning numerous academic awards and scholarships along the way.

After graduation, Nicholas embarked on his career in the industry starting out with driving sales for an airline, liaising with travel agents and learning the ins and outs of the travel industry. He joined The Travel Corporation with its Insight Vacations brand in 1999 in a sales and marketing role, before moving to Wotif.com to help the online hospitality portal set up its Asian regional office in 2004.

He re-joined The Travel Corporation in 2005 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Contiki Holidays overseeing branding and business development, before moving to head the Asia team for Trafalgar in 2011. He opened the India office in 2012 and expanded the brand’s global footprint across the region, opening up a world of new experiences for travellers seeking holidays around the world.

Prior to his promotion, Lim was the President for Trafalgar, Asia and President for The Travel Corporation, India. Under his leadership, his goal is to lead the Asia office to continue their efforts to provide the most enjoyable and enriching travel experiences for travellers in Asia, and support travel industry partners in the region.

Lim is forty-four years old, lives in Singapore, and is married with three children.
